There is no one correct answer to this. On the one hand, no – because of the risk that you obsess over the scale instead of your health. One the other hand, yes – research suggests that people who weigh themselves daily lose more fat in the long run (after 2 years). If you consider how many people gain back weight, that’s the kind of research that makes you stop and think. Does this mean you should? Not exactly. ‘Scale reliance’ (and obsession) is still a real thing, and too many people judge themselves by the number on a scale, which is only one measure of progress. But, it could be a good tool to keep you on track, or – maybe most importantly – help keep you on track once you hit a weight goal.
